In 2005 the Foy Centre was officially opened by President Mary McAleese. In what proved to be a very special day for Carlingford Community Development and the people of Carlingford, local man and CCD committee member Leo Doherty presented President Mary McAleese with a special gift of Locally produced pottery. 
The piece, which was crafted by local potters “Celtic Clays” depicted the image of Cuchulainn and the Brown Bull of Cooley  representing the folk lore of the area.
